Event Description: This webcast was developed to familiarize attendees with the FMCSA Comprehensive Safety Analysis (CSA) 2010 initiative that will revamp the way that carriers are tracked, evaluated, and selected for enforcement interventions.

This webcast will address:

  • The data collection system,
  • The new seven BASIC Safety Measurement System (SMS),
  • The new Safety Evaluation/Safety Fitness Determination process,
  • The new interventions that FMCSA intends to implement, and
  • What carriers should be doing to prepare for CSA 2010.

Presenters:
Thomas Bray – Editor – Transport Management
Tom joined J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc., in 2005. As an editor in the Transportation Publishing Department, Editorial Resource Area, Tom specializes in motor carrier safety and operations management. He is responsible for developing and updating materials for new and existing products and internet services.

Before joining J. J. Keller, Tom worked in the trucking industry for 22 years, holding the positions of driver, driver trainer, safety supervisor, lead instructor, claims manager, training director, and safety director. During his employment in the industry he was responsible for DOT compliance, policy development, driver human resources, driver training, and training program development, as well as claims management and accident and injury prevention.

Robert Rose – Editor – Transport Management
Bob joined J. J. Keller & Associates in February 2009 as a transportation management editor. Bob specializes in transportation operations and business issues. He is responsible for developing and updating material for new and existing products and supporting our online services.

Bob has worked in the transportation industry for the past 25 years gaining experience in many positions and responsibilities including sales, dispatch, and operations, terminal and senior management. During his career, Bob worked for LTL, TL, and small package companies and was responsible or opening new transportation facilities, recruiting, hiring and training, and developing the business from start up to profitability.
