Overview
Distractive driving is driving while performing any task that could otherwise wait until the driver is in a safe secure location.
These tasks can be anything from something as simple as changing the radio station, to something as risky as eating a bowl of cereal, yes that’s right, while driving. The most alarming and most frequently abused task is texting while driving. Most states have now pasted the texting and cell phone bans prohibiting drivers from these two tasks. However, most people do not comply with the ban. Our Distractive driving training program is aimed specifically at CMV drivers and others who drive as part of their profession and show detailed strategies drivers can use to deal with distracted driving by themselves and other drivers. Covers the following topics:
- Steps to avoid distracted driving
- Technology as a distraction
- Types of distractions
- Inattention blindness
- Recognizing the signs of other distracted motorists
- What not to do when sharing the road with a distracted driver
- and more.
