trench stabilization, there are a number of possibilities for accidents at a trench site: walls may collapse and bury workers, the spoil may slide into the opening, or workers may become trapped at the bottom of a trench by pipes or boulders. Rescuers responding to the scene of a collapse are often faced with a complex situation that is both long-term and labor intensive.
